I have a strange situation. I am a U.S. citizen and, most recently from Florida to Ontario, where they work and live now postponed. My car was last registered in Florida and have Florida plates. However, registration expired last spring. I have no residence in Florida already, and has no intention of returning. My stay in Canada is a "semi-permanent" with the idea that I'll be back somewhere in the United States in recent years. Based on this information, the Canadian Customs advised me not bother to register my car in Ontario.

I spend some time driving in the State of New York and of course driving in Ontario. I have not yet been arrested for a crime, but I think it's just a matter of time.

My question is, if I amIt is a ticket Ontario police my registration expired in Florida? Why not a New York police? I see no justification for the registration of my car in one state or province, at this time.
